Turmeric Golden Milk - The Magical Health Drink

Ingredients:

For the Golden Milk:

  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based like almond, coconut, or oat milk)

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger (or a small piece of fresh ginger, grated)

  • A pinch of black pepper (to enhance turmeric absorption)

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)

  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional, for richness)


Optional Additions:

  • A pinch of ground cardamom

  • A small piece of star anise

  • Vanilla extract


Instructions:

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a saucepan, combine the milk, turmeric powder, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, black pepper, and any optional additions you're using.

  2. Warm the Mixture: Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Make sure it becomes warm but does not boil.

  3. Add Sweetener and Oil: Once the milk is warm, add the honey or maple syrup and coconut oil. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  4. Simmer: Let the mixture simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.

  5. Strain and Serve: If you used fresh ginger or other whole spices, strain the mixture. Pour the golden milk into cups.

  6. Garnish (Optional): Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or turmeric on top for added visual appeal.
