Cardamom Whisper Vanilla Panna Cotta

Ingredients:

For the Panna Cotta:

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup whole milk

  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 teaspoons ground cardamom

  • 2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) unflavored gelatin

  • 3 tablespoons cold water

For the Garnish:

  • Fresh berries or fruit of your choice

  • Mint leaves (optional)

  • A sprinkle of ground cardamom or powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Gelatin: In a small bowl, sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to soften.

  2. Heat the Cream and Sugar: In a saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is dissolved. Do not let it boil.

  3. Add Flavorings: Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and ground cardamom.

  4. Dissolve the Gelatin: Add the softened gelatin to the warm cream mixture. Stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

  5. Pour into Molds: Divide the mixture into ramekins or molds. Let it cool to room temperature.

  6. Chill: Once cooled, cover the ramekins with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until set.

  7. Unmold: To unmold, briefly dip the bottom of each ramekin in warm water and then invert onto a serving plate.
